HELLO WORLD on the other side of this blog (well that's what it feels like). I have never written a blog before but if i had a £/$ for every time i've been told to start, perhaps i would not be selling KAN vests!

Yes that is what keeps me busy - the business that I began in 2005 is almost my entire focus. Poor husband, he married a creative type who loves her horse and strongly dislikes housework and grocery shopping, so cooking is a rare occurrance, luckily he is very long suffering. I live in Co Down, N Ireland with Mark my husband, Charlie my Irish Sport Horse, Tsavo a GW pointer and Flint a Parson Terrier.

I do hope that i find this easy and even pleasurable as i would love to be proficient at blogging. It is a bit of a leap however when one feels ***t scared of exposing thoughts and experiences - so please be kind!

Now I would like to introduce the product that i am so proud of. It is the KAN body protector (vest on your side of the pond) and i have designed and developed this safety product in conjunction with a top motorbike armour specialist, Knox who are a British firm and market leaders worldwide due to their innovation and cutting edge technologies. It never ceases to amaze me that there are no other equestrian body protectors currently utilising this type of armour. Furthermore there seems to be very little knowledge transfer from one sport to another - my experience anyway. So rather niavely, i set about bringing my idea into fruition back in 2005 when i formed the company and it took a very long 4 years to get the product from sample stage to production with all its safety approvals in place.

I am so proud of my product, it has been selling for 4 years in the UK and the brilliant feedback is quite overwhelming. Sometimes i find the testimonials very moving and i am privileged to have built up an amazing customer community who all want to spread the word about how they love their KAN's - the Horse & Hound forum has a squad of KAN wearers who a quick to post. Customers quickly become friends because we usually have a conversation or two and yes there is always a giggle with the boob shaped shell! However, I take the whole subject of fitting and providing a safety vest very seriously indeed. I entirely respect the fact that an individual is trusting me for advice, best fit and best protection for their very precious body. I am committed to giving my best and I send a KAN on its way with a little good wish...
