8th training Lesson and our 44th Ride together. I can't believe how far we have come in the 5 months we have been at Five Star Ranch!

Cooper was moving good, there were a few slips but I really think it's because he needs to build up his muscle and balance.

I had all his PC boots on again today and added the pretty blue breast collar. I also have a royal blue show saddle blanket, have to put it all on together somedayl

We rode indoors for our lesson, it's getting too dark outside now by 8:30 p.m.

Tonight we learned to move the shoulder over when he drifts off of a circle, it will also get him to neck rein. Did some jogging while others were loping. He picked up the lesson after about 6 tries, so smart, he was very good tonight.

He was lowering the tip of his ear very well on the left side, right side he did a little tossing of the head, but he did finally start to do it, not at all like Tuesday night when he was leaning on the bit and falling asleep. Even when we were trotting and I lifted the rein for him to soften he was doing it, Yay!!!

He was still chomping on the bit but less than before. I am starting to find when I hold too much contact that he fusses a lot, when I loosened up he did much better. All of these new exercises I am learning is giving me the tools to be able to correct him, even at a loose rein.

I will still tensing up with my legs and my neck and shoulder were hurting from tension. I don't know why I was like that as it was a great evening, wonderful ride and he was very relaxed.

We did stretches again with Coopers legs before and after riding, I must remember to do mine also.
