Chance and I have been training very hard the past couple of weeks, and I feel really prepared. Our lessons have been going great and I think Chance is as excited as I am to represent Region 5 on the Junior Dressage Team! We've worked so hard for this all year long and I'm hoping that it will pay off.

Chance and I training hard.

Yesterday I had to pack all of Chance's things, and since we're going to the National Championships in New Jersey after the NAJYRC, I had a lot to pack! Chance will be away from home for a full four weeks with all of the traveling, and since we live in Arizona I had to make sure I had everything since we'll be on the other side of the country. We decided to use a proffesional hauler, which meant that I had to fit everyting into two trunks. All of my tack, feed, grooming supplies, etc. had to be stuffed in there, and trust me, it was NOT easy!

It's a miracle! I finally got all of my things to fit.

Chance was picked up this morning at 6:30 a.m., so at least he should stay cool during the beginning of his trip. He hopped right on the trailer which made me feel good, but he's always an easy traveler. He'll be riding with the Young Rider team member Laura Decesari's horse, Cheenook II. They should get there on Friday night and have plenty of time to settle in before the first competition next Wednesday.

Chance is in the van and ready to go!

My mom and I will fly out on Friday morning to meet him and get him used to the facility. I'll be on my own training Chance for a few days until my trainer Teri gets there on Tuesday, but Chance and I know each other so well I'm not worried about it. I've been trying to pack my suitcase today but, as you can see below, my pets have not made it easy! All four of my dogs and four of my cats have been wanting to see what I'm doing, so I've had to put packing on hold. Hopefully I'll get it done before our flight! Well, that's all for now. Look for updates at the end of the week to see how Chance is settling in!

Hey, get out of there!

You guys know you aren't helping me, right?
