Olympic Rider to offer Inspiration to N Ireland's equestrian community, in aid or Breast Cancer charity.

Excitement builds In a sleepy corner of N Ireland and i want to tell all - even though attending the event will be impossible for nearly everybody who reads this, but of course you are all welcome and as Irish hospitality is legendary, it could be worth the trip! However for those of you who dont make it, I will furnish my blog with reports and photographs of the event which should make for interesting viewing. Any tips and advice on getting the message out there will be appreciated.

My good friend Margaret (who knows a thing or too on grand scale parties) is helping me to organise an exquisite charity event in aid of Breast Cancer Awareness and we are calling it "Think Pink Rosette" Reception" which wll take place at a beautiful venue, Montalto House, Ballynahinch. http://montaltoestate.com/special-occasions.aspx

It is so high profile not only due to the location but primarily due to the fact that I have managed to secure top KAN sponsored rider Jeanette Brakewell to be our guest speaker. She is taking time out of her hectic schedule to fly over for this event - quite something and she promises to bring her Silver Olympic medal for us all to inspect! Jeanette will also run some XC clinics at The Meadows Equestrian Centre which offers excellent training facilities - this is an amazing opportunity for Irish riders as Jeanette has never before given lessons on our shores.

To many Jeanette needs no introduction, but just FYI, she was a member of the multi-medal winning Senior British Event Team for six years and competed as pathfinder with the legendary Over To You, her incredible equine partner who is the most medalled horse in British Eventing history.

All proceeds raised at this unique event will be donated to the Ulster Cancer Foundation’s (UCF) Think Pink! Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign, which helps to raise awareness and funds to support local women with breast cancer. This has all been made possible with the generous sponsorship by business and commercial insurance brokers Dawson Whyte.

There is so much to organise for this event but we have a great team and everyone is really enthusiastic, so I'm sure it will be a great success.

Stay tuned...

Wendy
