I was so nervous! I felt really ill for two days!
Thursday was my first ever Dressage competition. It's the mid west RDA regional competition, So it's an important day for all those who entered qualifying classes. I entered a non qualifying class.
I felt incredibly smart in my jacket and pretty impressed with the hard work our groups helpers and instructors had done getting the horses ready and warmed up for us.
We were lucky with the weather as it was beautiful and the sun shone all day.
I rode Pink in the outdoor school and waited for my turn to ride my test.

I was very apprehensive when I was warming up and I had a moment where I thought I couldn't remember my test, despite me going over and over it in my mind virtually everyday for a good three weeks and riding the test several times in my lessons! My helper was very supportive and I really appreciated the support and advice she gave me. Thank you!!!!
Any way once I got walking around the arena and the judge signaled for my test to begin, I remembered it. I felt pretty nervous but made myself relax and I focused and concentrated on riding the test.

I began to enjoy riding the test and had a huge smile on my face as I was really enjoying myself! Although there were a couple of places where I could have ridden it a little better, I'm pleased with my first ever
dressage test!
My test went well, and I was told it was accurate and well ridden.
But, over all, I am very pleased with Pink - He's an amazing horse!
We won our class and I also got Best Newcomer to Dressage, which I was delighted with.
This was my first 1st place too!

Our group did very well with a total of 5 of us coming first and one second, and that was only because one of our riders had the first place in the same class.
I would like to say a huge thanks to our instructors and helpers who worked so hard to get the horses looking amazing and us all in the right place at the right time and gave us all loads of support and encouragement.
