So,here I sit, waiting until it's morning, so I can go get my baby boy. We're leaving the barn at 7am. On week days I don't get up at 7am, let alone leave at 7am, but, I have imposed upon my trainer to go get him, and said whenever was good for her, was good for me. Of course I have my own truck and trailer which I can convert to a stock, but, I'm one of 'those' horse owners. I have some anxiety about this move. He's 10 months old, never taken a big trip, I figured I'd leave it to the professionals. I have drugs from my doctor for this one... Let us not think about the fact it's costing me $500 to get him, and I could have done it for gas, about $100.

He's coming to a lovely place, will be going out on 40 acres with 4 older horses. At first he'll be in a paddock, we'll transition him from his hay to their hay. I worry that he won't have anyone close to him and will fuss. But, of course, the manager of the facility knows babies, she's not dumb, but, well, one of 'those' owners, you know. Then, of course, I worry that he get along with his new buddies. That he'll be okay on the grass (his mom foundered badly when she was four, we don't know why, but, ... one of 'those' owners...). That he'll be okay being out all the time, he currently comes in to a nicely bedded paddock. I hope he adjusts okay to living with Mom... he's been living with his Grandma, who sees him 4 times a day, his Mom can't do that, she has a regular job.... to pay for the luxurious accomodations for Havoc and his Auntie Maggie.

I love my little boy, I engineered him. I just want him to be able to grow up and have a happy, sound life. And horses seem to be born trying to kill themselves. Especially boys, they play rough! Of course now that he's a gelding, he's not so insane. Oh let my boy travel and adjust okay.....

Thank you Jackie. He travelled well, walked calmly off, into his temporary paddock, and set to munching hay. Really proud of him!! Now his Momma can sleep!
