It was a lovely weekend here in Ohio.  Friday evening, I rode both my horses in the arena.  Nobody was at the stables, so I didn’t have to share the arena.  Cruiser seemed a little more settled down, and he continues to act normal.  Cole did a perfect turn on the haunches on the first request.  Not bad for never having done it, before.  The other direction didn’t go as well, but that’s how things always are with horses.

Saturday, my niece came out to ride with us.  She rode Ranger, my sister rode Cruiser and I was on Cole.  We were gone for about an hour and a half.  We did some trotting and the rest of the time, we walked.  We all had fun.

Sunday, I rode Cole with my sister on Ranger.  We wanted to see if Cole would be more ready to canter if he was following Ranger who was cantering.  I got 2 transitions, but we didn’t get too far because Range wasn’t going very fast.  When we caught up with them, Cole came back to a trot.  My sister got to do lots of cantering, and she had fun with that.  on the way home, for about 20 minutes, we switched horses.  I forgot how small my horses were.  Everything looked so different on a taller horse.  You wouldn’t think a hand would make that much difference.  I then took Cruise out for a fun ride.

This is the first time my sister rode Cole any distance on the trail.  He was very good for her.  She only trotted once to catch up with us, and he did his show trot.  He’s such a silly, little horse.

I will be out this evening to work in the arena and do the nightly feeding.
