12/9/10 - Dramatic Video of Police Horses Charging Rioting U.K. Students

Dramatic scenes in London today as police try to contain angry student protesters with a charge from around 15 police horses. One police officer was taken to the hospital after being knocked off his horse. Students were throwing sticks and firecrackers at the horses.

When I saw this on TV today I said, wow, I wouldn't stand in the way of that charge.  See how the horses effectively herded the crowd mass away from them wherever they turned.  I would move off too!  I do believe that the horses are superbly trained so as not to lash out even when there are sticks and firecrackers (and I've heard worse as well).  I hope the police officer is OK and the horses not hurt.
