Gosh, I never thought about the difference for a male rider. I plopped my totally green adult sons on my gelding for a test drive. Showed them, here's the gas, here's the brakes, and let them ride for a bit. He tried his usual tricks, balk, minibuck, swerve, but each guy handled it pretty well, and no one was harmed or fell off.
