Free lunging in collection without side reins

In my opinion collection is not something that can be forced on a horse, especially by the use of side reins. I believe the use of restrictive equipment causes the horses natural movements to be..., well restricted.
Collection should be about self balance, self carriage, free movement, and not about setting a horses head in a fixed position.

The horse shows his most beautiful movements when moving at liberty, while he is having fun and playing. If you can have fun together with your horse, do things with him instead of to him, it's pretty amazing how easily they collect all by them selves. Besides; it's pretty fun and a great way to warm up for both the horse and the rider.

A joy to watch. Horses just wanna have fun. They already know how to be a horse, we just have to let them horse around!

Thank you for all the nice comments :)
I posted this video after having seen a video here where someone is explaining how to lounge a horse with sidereins, and in my opinion that is not nearly as good for the horse as getting it to collect without. It's easier for the handler of course, but that shouldn't stop anyone from trying. If one doesn't even try one is guaranteed to fail... ;)

Thank you for sharing...I've been doing some of this work with my boy (horse) and girl(pony). They are not so enthusiastic but I just love playing with them.
