Riding with a Bullwhip - Hungarian Style

Hungarian riders use bullwhips to herd horses. Here's a demonstration of how to use one. If you ever want to have a riding arena to yourself, go in with a bullwhip. lol!

I have been watching a number of videos of these Csikos recently, though I don't think I had seen this one. What's really cool is not so much the bullwhip, but their saddle has no girth! I have also seen them mount using the stirrup also with no girth. They claim it was because they can saddle up faster this way and girths are dangerous. Interesting that they rode in a treeless minimalist saddle for many hours everyday and no damage to their mount. My goal this summer is to try this type of riding this summer. Of course what would really help is if one of these guys came first and gave my horse a "tune up" with the bullwhip exercise so he would behave as well as one of these Hungarian horses.
