Gee, when I was a kid, all I wanted was a pony/horse/riding lessons, and all my parents would spring for was PIANO LESSONS and GOLF LESSONS. Ugh! Dad said "Pay for a horse yourself". I did--went on work-study my sr. year of high school, and bought a half arab, and paid my own bills! In retrospect, it was a good thing--learned how to manage money at an early age.
