Is everyone not buying horses anymore? At the farm we have a few for sale but it seems like no one is interested in them at all..... I dont understand.. We have a pruebred Arabian mare, a purebred Appaloosa mare, and a grade pony gelding for sale and no one seems to even want them..... Can someone please tell me why?? I just dont know about horse people anymore.... Seems like papers are more important than the horse anymore.... What is the big deal with papers anyways..... I would rather buy a grade horse than one with papers because the grade horse usually makes a better mount than the papered one does.....

It is due to the economic downturn, most people know that the purchase price is not the most expencive part of deal!! So that is why the cheep ones are not selling as well , I dont think the very top end of the market has changed much, but the middle and lower range has droped out because people are finding it hard to keep them.

Around here, everyone says its the economy, but I don't know...some horses are going for dirt cheap and the still don't get sold...I think people probably suspect there is something wrong with a horse that is "cheap" but strangely enough,
for the people that still have some money to spend on a new horse, if it is below $15,000. then it just isn't good enough....like the price has anything to do with how good the horse may be...sort of the same thing as with whether the
horse has papers or not...and often these big expensive horses aren't papered!

Good luck! I have a couple that I have been trying to sell for awhile now too
