LMAO, I can see his face McD! He must have been totally pissed off after you told him so many times at the show that he was getting his 'special muffin' when he got back to the barn! What trickery is this he doth proclaimed? I hope you at least fed the offending piece to Rob or Mac, they don't care what kind of muffin THEY get! They'll eat anything!
Ben likes bananas - especially the skins. I discovered this one day when I had eaten a banana and left the skin on the side in the stable and he sneaked up behind me and pinched it!

My old mare Misty used to like bread but I think this is fairly common. She once ate a ham sandwich but she spat out the ham thank goodness! She liked Guinness too.

Like the idea of blueberry muffins, might try Ben with those!
Wally loves to eat sultanas. So did Laura and she liked bananas, beer and coffee. And no she never got drunk!
My horse is pretty normal but my mom's horse used to drink beer out of a bottle and a girlfriend's horse LOVED pfeffernusse (a ginger cookie covered in crunchy icing sugar) a festive german cookie!
This discussion has certainly given me a few chuckles. My girl loves getting treats and likes most of the regulars, apples, carrots, peppermints and just about any commercial treats. She only likes blueberry bran muffins and will spit out all the others.
In the summer after a trail ride we turn the horses loose in the arena to roll while we enjoy a refreshment of our own. Belle will mug for sips of Smirnoff Ice vodka coolers (she likes beer too but not as much) Her buddy Willie won't touch the drinks, but loves to eat the ice cubes out of the cooler bag. No boozing for her this summer though as she's going to be a momma.
My horse Rey eats bananas, skin and all. He also LOVES vanilla wafers. He attempted to eat someone's cheeseburger once but I wouldn't let him. He eats cheese (I wanted to see) My first pony ate french fries with ketchup. My second pony (and the whole barn, but she started it), will do ANYTHING for a Pop-tart. And my welsh/arab cross knows how to drink from a beer glass. It took him a while, but now he knows just what angle to suck the water from.
And, my friend's horse eats marshmallow peeps and tootsie rolls all day long...
My Arabian gelding LOVES bannas! especially the peels.
wow I can't believe how many horses like bannas!
Tiny will hunt you down with the energy of a Navy Seal on a stealth mission if he even THINKS you have a grapefruit.
Evidently Bear has very particular tastes. Today, his eighth birthday, he turned his nose up, and rolled his eyes, at his birthday cake -- a homemade carrot cake courtesy of his Aunt Jan!!! What gives? It has carrots in it for goodness sake!!!

Perhaps he's watching his calorie intake, preferring the natural goodness of the carrot right out of the carrot bag to that which has found its way into a concoction of flour, eggs, pineapple, sugar ... all the good (and naughty!) things that go into making a delicious carrot cake .. including the cream cheese icing. Oh well, that left more for the rest of us ... including Mac the quarter horse whose tastes buds are somewhat less fussy. He enjoyed it, to be sure ...

Hay, Happy Birthday Bear... Love Toby, Oliver, Jen, Jax and Jett....
