Hi! I saw your message in the over 50 forum. I am not in that group so I can't post there, but I thought that I'd share something that helps with my strength, posture and range of motion... pilates. There are even people who teach pilates specifically for riders, but any pilates class/lessons will help. It is difficult at first because you are using muscles that you don't always use, especially if you don't have impeccable posture (and who really does), but your body will adapt and you will be stronger, more flexible and have posture that will impress a dressage judge. ;) I found it great when getting back into riding after a long absence, and I now actually enjoy doing pilates for its own sake and not just as a tool to improve performance in other sports. Pilates classes are widely available, so you should be able to find a class/instructor in your area. A good instructor will work with your current abilities and needs.
Hey Dawn, I'm doing well, I finally bought my own horse and I'm having fun with him but I'm not doing any painting or drawing these days I'm too busy with work ( I'm a window cleaner and it's hard on my hands). It's so nice to hear from you, are you planning to ride in any shows this year?
