I would be interested to know how the economy is affecting you and your horse. Is anyone doing anything differently?

I was thinking about buying a horse but my husband convinced me not to because of the economy. He pointed out that it is not the best time to take on the liability of horse ownership (unexpected vet bills, etc...). It's better for me to keep leasing a horse for now. Maybe when things turn around, I'll start looking again.
I would think this would be a wonderful time to be shopping for a horse, prices are the lowest they've been in ages. You can get incredible horses for a pittance. I've given up on marketing my sale horses this year, I have a young horse I evented on this summer, hoping to get a good price for him, and I doubt I could get the equal of a few months training.
