Profile Information

About Me:
I am a married mother with four children ranging from teens to preschoolers. Out here is BC, we own Blackhorse Farms (www.blackhorse-farms.com), a 10 acre piece of peace where we are building our dream. I have not been one of those horse lovers who have been riding before they could walk, I am a late bloomer. I have loved and admired horses from afar my whole life (except the imaginary horse who ran along outside our car with me on long road trips when I was a child), but always thought that horses only wanted to bite and kick me. It was my daughter Lauren, who had to have riding lessons. Her passion in horses led the way to mine. I have her to thank for leading us on this new life adventure.
We own several horses, including our Freisian mare, Emke. Em is a 7 year old FHANA (www.fhana.com) registered friesian I imported from Holland two years ago. She is sweet, gentle and makes wonderful babies!
I look forward to the life that horses have opened up for me and my family.

Allison left early early Sunday morning. She texted late afternoon to say she was in Calgary. I'm just in the middle of moving so am quite busy but as soon as the dust clears I'd love to come visit and also I'd love for you to come see my place too! Also still in the middle of trying to get Liskje bred and the transfer done...it's been very trying with all else that's been going on. Chat soon...love you...Lynn

Hi Dani....I've again been under a pile of paper and had to get that out of the way, plus the weather has not been to inviting but it is feeling like soon I will be coming. Tawny's here this weekned though sooo...she leaves Wednesday and I have a comitment next weekend but the week after that looks good. I saw Baron's pic! My sister and I had an imaginary horse named Sugar. She lived at our Uncle's farm in Saskatchewan and was (of course) pure white. When I told dawn that we needed to stop the story, that it wasn't true, she cried and cried. We had been believing it so long she was quite attached to Sugar.

I'd love to make it over there soon...

Lol...too funny! I was talking to a friend about a year ago about my imaginary horse, but before that, I had not thought about it for years! I was always amazed at how my horse was able to keep up with us. Sometimes, it would hop on top of a semi for a break!
How are you finding the learning curve as an adult?...I am finding it very large, exciting and frustrating at the same time!

Your comment about the imaginary horse running beside the car just made my jaw drop open. I thought I was the only one to do this! We used to drive from Montreal to Hamilton quite frequently, and that horse would jump every wire fence, every rock and stream. Sometimes I was on the horse's back, sometimes I was the horse. But I, too, came to ride seriously as an adult, not as a child (though I certainly wanted to).

So happy to meet you.
