Tell me what your dumbest riding idea was? Mine was definitely when I agreed to ride my friends horse bareback for the first time! He was just a 3 year old who was 16.2hh and had just been saddle broken(I was only 10 at the time to! & small for my age... talk about dumb).... I barley had time to get on before I was lying in the dirt with no front teeth! The horse turned out great in the end but he won't let anyone ride him bareback! How about you? Did your idea turn out fun or painful?

This was with a donkey, not a horse.
I went to a donkey breeding farm. They had a small standard breeding jack. He was pretty sweet. I asked his owner how he was to ride and she asked me if I wanted to ride him. Of course I wanted to ride him, the problem was that we didn't have a single piece of tack with us. We didn't even have a piece of baling twine.
After discussing it with the owner and the jack she gave me a leg up. She finally go him to walk and we walked a little bit. I tried to see if he responded to a single leg, but he did not go a millimeter sideways. Then I decided to get off.
I had never ridden a horse without SOMETHING on his head, even my wonderful first horse. But there I was up on a JACK (donkey stallion). It all ended up well. Don't think I'll ever do something like that again!
Mine was bareback too....riding in a thong bathing suit on a hot...hot...summer day with a sweaty horse....ahhhh youth and stupidity...mine was not painful..more....yucky...that is the word I would use....lol.
