We even get rain rot out here in calif.  These mini and their Wooly coats are kinda prone to it if your not careful

Really not enough information to tell who it is Barbara.  And while I agree that it's horrible, I don't know their circumstances.  Rainrot isn't a huge deal and was stupid for them to even mention.  Thick wooly coats on minis this time of year contribute to that.  Malnourishment is a problem and with the economy so poor it's not uncommon to see this.  I wish I knew who the farm was.

Heather, do you know of this farm? What horrible people!

Thirty two miniature horses were rescued from a farm in West Boylston on Thursday.

The animals' owner surrendered them into the care of the Animal Rescue League, the MSPCA and other animal welfare organizations. The severely malnourished horses are suffering from intestinal parasites and "rain rot," a skin condition resulting from prolonged exposure to the elements, the Animal Rescue League said. While carrying out the horses' progressive feeding program, the horses nuzzled staff members, officials said.Caring for the horses will cost at least $15,000, and the Animal Rescue League is seeking donations.

Heather, at this rate, maybe you should convert the tack room into a "cot" room... somewhere to sleep in between babies being born.....
