Chantilly is pregnant again?  Already?  Or is this a different mare named Chantilly?

We are normally done with foaling in May.  I have mares on the expecting page for the fall, but the owner had them ultrasounded yesterday and they were ALL open so I need to remove them.  Personally I prefer to not foal out that late - it's too hot and we've had more problems with heat related issues during foaling than we have with cold.

We had three mares ultrasounded Saturday and I was disappointed to learng that Kitty (in my avatar) and princess were open.  But, Chantilly Lace is in foal for this year. Yeah!!

I posted a photo of Susie (filly) and her mom is on our website under the expecting page www.mulligansrun.com/expecting.php    We will get professional photos by my daughter once she is a couple more days old.

When things settle down, would it be possible to have color pics of moms and babies???

What a little tiger!!  I can't believe how quickly she started to get around.

She's beautiful!!!!    No wonder people bring their mares to you, Heather and Shannon-- its wonderful to watch you in action.  Course, Sadie did a bit as well!!!

I have no personal knowledge of how it's done, but I would imagine Googling it would give you a lot of info. I do know, if it had ben available when my kids were born many years ago, I would have done it, no questions asked.

I was watching you tie up the placenta, while I watched the replay of the birth, and the question just popped into my head. I guess it would be the cord blood that is saved, not the whole placenta?
