Oops ...let me clarify - we tear the test strip in two so we get two uses out of one strip.  The way I wrote it - it sounded like you could use them over again..not the case. Sorry for that confusion.

Rach...every night lately has been pretty sleepless.  She is such a faker. LOL

 

Barbara, the test strips are awesome - you can take the strip right to the mare and get one drop of fluid or you can just collect some milk in a cup and dip the strip.  We cheat and tear the strip and use each one twice.  You either apply the milk to the strip or dip the strip, but you have to read it quickly because it will continue to darken.  That's the biggest trick...read it fast.

How do the test strips work, Heather? This takes me back to my first pregnancy when I looked like a water buffalo at 5 days overdue. I knew I would have the baby at some point, but when?????!!!!

Well the Foal Time test strips show that she is almost 100% ready.  I would say 100% but there was the tiniest hint of green left on the strip - not much, but enough to say it's not a solid yellow yet.  But sooooo close. :)
