How much do the foals generally weigh at birth?

Well...another new experience for us. I was feeding - in the tack room RIGHT next to Be's stall where the COLT sign is. Anyway - I was feeding and heard an odd noise...sounded like a whoosh, but I kept pulling together the morning food. I walked around the corner to go feed our stallion and Be was down - I stepped closer to look and there were FEET. I said OMG and ran to put the cups down. I couldn't get in the stall because she was laying in front of the door and was not wanting to get up. I went in and delivered a beautiful colt. He crashed shortly after birth - hypoglycemic. He has been given karo syrup and we are syringing colostrum until he fully figures out how to nurse. He's had it a couple of times but not long enough for our liking. So we will stay with him and make sure he's 100% before we leave them alone. The vet has checked him and he's fine otherwise, so it's just a matter of time to get him strong.

Shanza is like all moms with a new baby - she doesn't want anyone else looking at her. She'll settle shortly and Shannon is in the barn with them.

Is it just the angle or is Blessed Be's foal larger than the previous ones? Colt or filly? Gorgeous color!

Oh so cute. I missed another one. She did it while I was sleeping. But at least I could see the final images. Cute baby!
