The mare that is in with her foal in Ace's stall doesn't enjoy nursing much when she is eating. I have a horse who was orphaned because her mom kicked her very hard when she was two months old for trying to nurse when her mom was eating. This orphan is now 11 and has such severe sepearation anxiety and is way too herd bound, however, she has such a sweet, sweet personality, so sad.

I know they typically foal at night, but Tonja keeps turning her head around and looking at her belly. She sure does hold her tail up a lot!

Do you ever have trouble with 'dummy foal' syndrome like we sometimes can with full size horses?

I'm surprised that Tonja is still holding out. She normally gets a larger bag than she has now, but testing five squares and waiting?...Hmmm

They are all so uncomfortable Montana. I think we'll have a few go pretty close together at this rate.
