I am hoping this year to breed one or two of my mares. Mainly due to the fact hat one of them is older and I don't want to wait until it is too late. She has a healthy 3 yo filly on the ground. I decided not to offer Storm publicly until 2014. I have learned alot about the stresses that go with from you guys. My vet has helped me to know what vaccinations will be needed and when.  It's a plan now, lol! Just waiting for the right time.

Looks like all of Marestare is down. Can't get the picture on the Legacy site either.

No, no clue on the abortion.  Seems to be alot of them, or we are more aware because of the internet and people more readily communicating.  The vet will be here today to flush her just for precaution.

As for the dog, he needs to be neutered and given a new home. He may be stressing out some of the mares. If he is sizable, they could see him as a real threat.  After all, they are small themselves.

Any idea why the mare miscarried? How is she doing?

No, it seems our little aussie, Calypso, is in heat.  That is the issue.  We have locked Calypso in the house so he can't dig into her kennel or something.  Shannon came home tonight to find the dog in with our big dogs playing, so I think he's harmless, just lost.  She tried to coax him closer but he ran with his tail between his legs.  Now I feel bad for him.  Not his fault....he still needs to go or at least be taken care of by someone.

I am so sorry things are not going well. Have you had the dog picked up yet? Any evidence he has been harassing the ladies?

Are the horses on can 2 the Shetlands? They don't look familiar.  Are any of them bred. The one with the light colored buttocks looks a little "plump".

Just curious how cold is nasty cold pout there? Here is is about minus 25 or colder but we are known to complain about closabove freezing too if it is windy and wet.
