So are the horse we are seeing on screen all members of a select "all boys" club or are there some fillies in the mix.

LOL My best friend says, "they eat and they poop...therefore they cost money. LOL  We give one flake of hay per horse twice a day.  So - 20 horses = 20 flakes.  We are currently down to 3 bales a day but at $8.00 a bale = $24.  It adds up quickly and this $8.00 a bale is coastal, not our favorite as the nutritional value is poor.  We prefer Orchard with a light mixing of alfalfa.

I don't doubt that! My dad used to call horses hay burners. the one downside of them is that they eat a lot although I would think minis would need considerably less. Ours were a Clydesdale perchorn cross.

We had 150 bales of hay delivered today.  Trying to stock up for winter.  Our distributor has alot and says it will keep growing until frost.  Down here that can be a long time.  Let's hope so.  Hay is our biggest expense.

It's sort of quiet here. I'm still checking in on the horses several times a day and enjoying seeing them. Hope all is well at Mulligan's Run Farm. Just saw you leave with the flatdeck and assuming you went for feed. Have a great day!And that goes for everyone!

Thank you for the link Heather. Been watching part of the evening. Maybe this is a greenhorn question but what are the criteria for the Libery event? Some of the horses were amazing running their little hearts out when the musice played and they were free and almost stopping on a dime when it quit and actually standing and waiting for their trainoer to get them or even going to them. Are they geldings? They seemed to be all mails but a little tame for stallions although a couple came close to qualifying.

I enjoyed the 1 to 3 year old competition. It was easier to predict who was a winner there.Thank you for you rpatience with someone not as familiar with show quality horses.

I'm with you Annie I would skip winter too or at least cut it short. Might not get the full foaling season that way though and it is such a thrill to see what each new one looks like and watch them thrive.

There may be other MRF horses there.  We do sell quite a few to show homes.  I just prefer the AMHR show and horses and tend to forget to keep up with AMHA sometimes.
