Wendy is outside during the day until she shows more signs. She has no bag yet and she is more comfortable on the sand than the mats.

Tess is huge indeed and sooooo sweet.

Tess is huge isn't she?  She's a doll baby - love this mare. :)  She has a big bag, could get bigger, but is testing nothing on the tests.  We know that can change fast, so we keep monitoring.

Heather glad to hear Jack did not have to get a drain tube, so that means he is healing from the inside out, that good news. That would have been fun having Tess's baby doing that, I cannot waite for another to foal out poor snowflake needs a playmate lol

That's tough Pat because every mare is different.  Rowdy never had movement - big as a house and you never saw or felt the foal move.  Tess, Chantilly, Sadie - all have bouncing babies, but that was when they were very close.

I believe I have read that 5 months and on you can feel it.  If you have a set of clippers or anything that vibrates alot place it on the mare's belly right in front of her bag - usually it will wake up the foal and get them moving.  It works for most but don't be disappointed or worried if you don't get a response.

What month can you feel movement from the foal in the mares tummy?

Glad Jack does not have an infected wound!!!!

Jack did very well.  We feared he would need to have a drain tube put in, but the wound doesn't have puss as we feared, it has white blood cells - good stuff.  So, no dain, and less wrap as we wean him off it.

I was playing with Tess' baby last night when we went down to wrap Jack's leg.  It was pushing out against me....very cool.  Hopefully she will foal soon because Snowflake needs a playmate LOL

Ouch, just checked out the pics on photobucket, can see why Jack is constantly monitored now, the cams really don't pick up how nasty his injuries are! Poor soul, hope the vet visit went ok, knees are such complicated things :(

Looking forward to seeing Tess' foal, hopefully any time soon as university starts again on Monday so I can't watch as often!
