Well, it's not for me to say how they "should" look.  It's the goal we have in our breeding - we want our miniatures to look like a big horse - only small.  We don't breed for the short, stocky pony of old and that old style does not win in the show ring.

We want pretty heads, long necks, refinement and great movement.  We're fortunate that our stallion, Dream, is producing that for us!

heather, I've noticed that most of your minis have a very Arab look to them, even to the mane clips. I don't know much about minis- just ponies and horses- is this how they all should look?

Thoughts and prayers that your little fellow recovers fully and is not worse for the experience.

Looks like the new little man is resting - he's stretched out and looks so relaxed, bless him. So glad he's safe now.

His name is SMHC All The Right Moves.  We call him Moves.  I had a friend suggest calling him "Freeway". LOL

Yes, we are shocked that he's alive let alone having minimal injuries (that we can see).  If it were warmer he would be less hairy and it would be easier to see, but then again, without the hair he might be in worse shape.

You can see him on our stallions page at www.mulligansrun.com/stallions.php

Oh my goodness!  What an adventure that colt has had.  Thank God he's home with you Heather and getting expert treatment and care.  He's been flat out whilst I've been watching.  He must be so traumatised, poor chap.  Sending massive get well vibes.  What's his name?

Oh, Heather!  What a nightmare of a story. It's a miracle you got him back safe.  Good thoughts and prayers his way.

And Mags, a trailer cam doesn't have to be a splurge.  Forget the fancy ones you see at the back of the horse magazines.  I got a cheap wireless one from Brandsmart for $79.  It's a pencil cam by a company called Swann, made in Australia.  They are the BEST cameras ever.  The camera can run on a 9 volt battery for 16 hours in daylight, or 4 hours after dark (night vision LED's kick in).  It came with a tiny receiver, about the size of a credit card, with a fold up antenna on it, that screws into the cable line in on the back of any tv.  I could have purchased the fancy color screen receiver for $150 additional, but instead I got an 8" black & white campground TV on sale for $8.88 (yes you read that right) at the same Brandsmart store.  It runs on 4 D batteries for several hours.  I set the TV & receiver on the front passenger seat of the truck and the wireless camera is screwed to a black of wood with heavy industrial strength velcro on it.  The velcro's mate is inside the front of the trailer, that way the camera is easily removed and kept inside most of the time.

FYI: the reason why the camera was so cheap, is that its range is not very far, 50' maybe.  It's meant to be used as a baby room monitor type deal.  But in a truck/trailer type situation, range is barely an issue.  So, don't kill yourself getting a $450 trailer camera all wired into your truck's systems and everything.  Mine works AWESOME.  It's a tremendous comfort to not have to wonder about every bump and bang you hear back there when you are towing.

Be safe everyone!

I'm glad he's doing okay and is in good hands. I have massive paranoia when I'm hauling, and my next splurge is an in trailer camera.

I had a cat jump out of the goose into the trailer with my mare (17hh of warmblood) in it. Holy hell I could feel that, the mare broke the front bar. But a little dude in a solid trailer, I can understand not feeling it, but the horror of it happening, I can't imagine. Good thoughts going out from here to the little guy!

He's 2 years old and doing remarkably well.  He is very very sore, but he's alive and should recover.

The trailer he came out of is a mini trailer with double doors at the top.  It has a low profile and is very solid, so I don't find it odd that they didn't hear or feel it.  He is 34" tall  (approx) and very refined, so light weight.  He somehow opened one of the doors (we learned later that he is good at that) and he escaped.
