This page is dedicated to watching the mares on Mare Stare, starting with the mini donkeys at Half Ass Acres. But be warned....it is highly addictive.

Dayle has been kind enough to allow us to peek into her barn this foaling season since I have no babies arriving at my farm this year. Here is her lineup... 1) HHAA Bumbles - Due January ??, 2014 (separated from jack Feb. 24th, 2013)2)…Continue

i actually thought she looked perkier all afternoon. Even before she pooped. the fluids must have really helped.
Is the soup warm? I know warm drinks and soups give me hot flashes so maybe it will warm her up too? Just a thought.
Heather you guys are doing a FANTASTIC job. Really. And I knew you were right about having a fantastic vet. Tilly seemed to be perked up after her vet visit. I don't know what all she did and really don't want to. I appreciate you taking them off camera while the vet is there. I think I'd be impelled to watch but I really have no business watching anyway. And if I were a vet there is NO WAY I'd be "vetting' anything live on computer screens around the world!
We will be very watchful Norvi. :)
Thanks Violet for answering Shirley's inquiry. While things are slowly melting here they are quickly refreezing every evening It's exceedingly odd weather for us and it's dropping to the lowest we have had yet 14 degrees. The filly already has on 3 blankets and two heat lamps and we don't want to take a chance of her getting a chill.
Also, as we increase the fluids to Tilly, we lower her body temp and she is chilled, so we are doing all we can to hlep keep the heat in the stall.
As I started typing this our vet grabbed me and asked us to run more fluids, which we did. She has pooped a good bit now and the poop is wet...YEAH!!! We'll continue to monitor her but she seems much more comfy.
I am not sure if twins are more prominent in the minis. I have a friend with a mini with twins. She had it ultrasounded early and they did not catch it. The mare is now 228 days with a filly and a colt that are doing well so far. She gets monthly checks at the vet and she is under close observation. We are hoping for the best for her.
