Would walking Tilly in hand help with the colic? Pretty pointless asking really as I know you are doing what's best for her. I wish her a speedy recovery. :)

OK and one comment.  I wonder if Tilly is so "clean" that she doesn't want to poop in the stall now that the baby is running all around in there.  I wonder if she would poop if she were let out to poop somewhere else?  I used to have a dog that would NOT poop on our property.  Only on walks or in other neighbor's yards.  Tilly reminds me of a very clean horse as she likes to only go in that one corner.  But now the filly is in there running EVERYWHERE.  Maybe she wants her baby to stay clean.

No problem with self confidence and curiosity in that little monkey!!

OK, ONE more question.  Promise this is the last one.  Are the little foals usually that full of themselves?  She is quite a spunky little thing.  Are they all pretty much like that?  She's hilarious to watch.

Will she continue to make milk if she's not eating?  And if the filly needs assistance in getting milk do you guys leave the filly with her and bottle feed or do you foster her with another mom?  Or does it depend on the situation?

Poor Tilly!  And see, I told you I know nothing about horses :D.  Thanks for explaining the hay being withheld.  I was wondering but was not wanting to ask because I can tell you all take such good care of the animals that you must be doing it for a reason.  Just couldn't figure out WHAT reason.  That makes sense though.

Aw. Just logged on after being gone all day.  Sorry to read in all the comments that Tilly is not feeling well.  I wondered with her laying down so much the last couple of days, as I did not remember my mare laying down that much after she gave birth, so I wondered if something wasn't right.  But I don't know your mare, so didn't think to say anything.  Prayers for her to be better!

I'm curious, does your vet think her colic is related to her foaling in any way? Or just coincidence?  Did your vet suggest to offer her a soupy mash?
