Tilly is colicky and under watch and medication.  We're anxiously awaiting poop.

Yes, the white sack will be right behind it.  You pray the foal is in position because your time is very limited.  This is one of the reasons that we are so hands on with our deliveries.  If you allow "mother nature to take her course" and the mare pushes for 5 or 10 minutes without presenting, only to present a red bag -you have wasted precious time.  The bag with a red bag is always very thick.

Oh No!

sorry to read that Tilly is none to good....have just been watching her and the foal before I read any of the comments.

In a redbag delivery, after you open the placenta,is the white sack visable immediatly,or must you  reach in for it and open it right away? I know you must pull the baby out quickly, not waiting for the mare to have a contraction.

Journey... Journey is a special boy, his mom, Pearl is a favorite of mine and when she rejected him, it broke my heart. I was there that night when he was born and was actually staying there at Heather's for a bit so I helped bottle feed him a few times when I wasn't at work. Then Tonya took over and we all cried! lol He still has a special place in my heart and always will! I seem to have a nickname for most of them and my one for him is 'Munsta' (lil monster lol) He is such a sweety!!

yes she is lol I would love to meet her in person but I live alittle to far away, the one I would really love to meet would be journey i had a blast watching them last yr. I think minnies are so sweet, I keep asking my husband if I can get one lol maybe in time, if i keep bugging him you never know, When you meet her, you should get lots of pics, she is a doll just like her mom.
