This page is dedicated to watching the mares on Mare Stare, starting with the mini donkeys at Half Ass Acres. But be warned....it is highly addictive.

Hello all!
The first foals already have arrived I see.
In the Netherlands (I'm a Dutchie..) the foaling season for warmbloods will start in 2 to 3 months. Hopefully weather will be better then.
I've been barmcamming for ages (ok.. I'll admit... that's a little bit an overestimation ;) ). We introduced barncams at our barn 3 years ago and I have to say: it's perfect!
Hopefully I catch some foals this year on the webcams :)
Laurie, This is definitely not typical of this area at all!! We have now had 2 pretty decent snowfalls this winter and that is just unheard of! What makes it hard here is we just don't have the equipment to deal with it, i.e. everything from equipment that would making working around the farm easier to equipment to clear our roads and make travel easier. And also some of the horses have never seen this stuff or had to navigate in it so it makes you nervous for them.
Minnesota, really? We just had a doctor start at the Large Animal Clinic I work at that just finished her Internal Medicine Residency at the University there! She came here and said "What the heck! This is not what I was expecting! You guys are not suppose to get snow!" LOL And she thought she was getting away from it, bless her heart! LOL
i'm in minnesota, and your outdoor shot looks more like it does up here. we're used to it, but i imagine it's hard when you're not. and without the person in the stall to reference the size, we forget how small these two are.
like everyone else, i spend way too much time at the computer watching this sweet pair. i have a mini of my own, a gelding, who's basically 3 legged from an accident when he was young, but gets along very well in spite of it.
thanks for sharing their lives with us.
Tilly's getting some cookies!!
I am so glad you guys are enjoying watching the barn cam! Heather is such a wonderful and knowledgable person! She is the one that introduced me to these wonderful little horses as I have done TB's my whole riding life LOL. She is also the reason I now have my own little mini gelding that still currently resides at Mulligans Run :0) In fact Heather & Shan are like my second family and are just wonderful people!! I do hope this darn weather clears up soon so I can get out there to visit my little guy and see this beautiful filly in person!
Amy ~ I can tell you from personal experience, those stalls are much bigger than they look on cam! LOL I have actually seen people keep big horses in stalls that same exact size! It is hard to get a feel for size and things on these cams, things look so much different in person!
LOL Marina, I laughed out loud at your post. I'm so very sorry that you don't feel well, but very grateful to have you in our barn with us. You see, I missed the antics of Miss Snowflake (I have a problem with that name - maybe suggestions?) and without the webcam we would have all missed it.
Thank you too Gilda for the kudos. I try very hard to explain (sometimes repeatedly) what our setup and our procedures are, as well as what is normal and what is not. I am a very open, honest and upfront person and I having others watching the cams.
Heading to the barn shortly. We are very much off schedule but hoping for some melting outside. Everything is a sheet of ice.
