Too Funny about the cats.. we only have 2 barn cats.. one has only been around a few years, the other is like you're saying sooo old I cannot believe he's still kicking, but he is & just as strong & playful as he was as a kitten!  He's witnessed so many foalings.. has to be right there with us, although the mares are used to him, they do not think it's too cool once the foal arrives..lol

Heather, I so agree, daylight is warmer & we're all thinking faster during the day.. :)  Where are you guys?  I'm in Ohio & it's super chilly here..  Do you use heat lamps in your stalls?  I've had good luck with them, just have to make sure the cobwebs are cleaned often, I turn them off after we blanket the foal, but even the mare seems to enjoy it..:)

We have four barn cats.  But the one you see most often is Dash and he is the most annoying cat you will ever meet.  He gets picked up by the mares and thrown across the stall.  He will come back for more.  I swear he is down to his last life, but he must have started with twice as many as normal cats. LOL

I have watched him in with Chantilly and it's funny how she interacts with him.  Most of the mares just want him to leave.

I agree Michelle.  I thought she would have extra feet in her stall this morning.  It's cold outside - maybe she doesn't realize that she will still get to stay inside once she foals. LOL.  Personally, I'd prefer that she go during the day when the temps are a bit warmer.

I saw her rubbing last night, parked against the stall wall, laying down & back up a bunch, biting her sides, at one point thought she was gonna lay down & foal when she stretched all 4 legs out.. but she's just messin with us..lol  I'd say she's ready, the foal on the other hand is saying..dude, it's nice & cozy in here.. I think I'll stay a bit longer..heehee  Had a few foal out last year that were 2 weeks overdue.. No doubt the time is near..really thought it would be last night..:)

that's not snow, that's ghosts or orbs of light (if you watch ghost adventures) LOL

She will be in on cam or with us until she foals.  The vet will be here today to do a flush, ultrasounds and bloodwork on other horses and I'm sure she'll get a peek, but our vet has been monitoring her continuously and feels she is fine.  She will foal when she's good and ready....or when the foal is good and ready.  LOL

Good Morning...

Still no foal?   Will she stay indoors all the time... or do you take her for a small walk around outside at all?  maybe a little stroll would be nice and get things moving ??    addicted to watching her...thanks x
