We are extremely saddened at the loss of Chantilly's colt. We tried all we could to help him - including sleeping in the barn and feeding him every 15 minutes.

Earlier today he brightened and we thought we were over the hurdle, but he crashed quickly and we felt he was suffering. We had him humanely euthanized and he is with Chantilly while she realizes that he is gone.

He certainly touched our hearts with his determination and his will to live, but there were too many things working against him.

On another note, Sobe is full screen as she is the next to go unless Breeze beats her to it. Breeze is carrying a sibling to the colt that just passed away.

Many thanks to all that have watched and prayed.

I am so very sorry for this outcome. You ladies have exibited the upmost in dignity for this wee one, who apparently just wasn't ready for the big world out there. Love, through tears,

Dare we be cautiously optimistic?? The little fellow keeps amazing me, as each time I tune in, I'm afraid he won't be there, but he still is!! What a little fighter! And both you ladies need to be commended for all the hard work and long sleepless nights you've put in. If love alone can save him, he'll be just fine!

shannon is so tired as we see her sleep in the barn, you ladies are hero's to little one's, as my husband said to me today " those foals would not survive if the were born outside" with no-one around to help them.
My daughter shannon has a appy x arab. shannon is 19 and her horse Niabi is 19 as well, niabi means the world to her and we have had a scary moment with colic. so to sleep on the barn floor, can relate to that, you just can't leave. they get into your heart and that is it.
stay positive and it will all come together. Horse's have a big heart and they reward you with there love, i think you have to be a horsey person to understand what they can do.
thanks shannon and heather

Ladybug had a colt and was very good considering. :)

Chantilly's colt was extremely weak last night and we feared we were losing him. He has improved but we have to feed him every 30 minutes, which is why you will see us living in the barn. We removed the splints and he perked up, but was too weak to stand. I believe we are going to try to put the splints back on and assist him in nursing. Not sure yet what the plan is. Prayers are welcome and appreciated. He has a long road ahead of him, but he's fighting.
