Robin, Camera: I'd suggest you visit a couple of camera shops and tell the clerk exactly what is important to you in your photography and a price range you can squeeze out of your budget or an initial investment w add-ons available as your budget allows. I went into a Ritz camera shop several years ago and did this. At that time I got a FinePix, Fujifilm A5000 Digital camera. I don't believe the model is still available but newer models are. I have enjoyed this camera soooo much and still haven't learned how to use all of the features.
And congratulations to you for getting out of an abusive relationship after so many years. I hope you are healing and learning to enjoy life again and finding loved ones that value you.

Hope things run smoothly for you in the future :) Well, I right now have a Nikon DX, I think that's its name :) I also love photography second best to horses <3 Right now, I'm quite happy with the speed of the camera, the quality, and the settings. But I'm no expert on this as I'm only 14 and have only had my camera for maybe, half a year? :) So, good luck!

I started taking picures when I was nine and horses are my fav. subject. I had a couple good Nikon camers but when I left an 18 year abusive marriage I lost everything but my clothes and some of my pictures. Its been almost 2 years and I am just getting another horse. I have not had the money to buy another first rate camera. If you were buying a new camera what one would you buy and why?
