I carried my human around the arena for the first time yesterday! I was careful to keep my gait smooth and even, as I am not yet sure how well humans stay on horses, but it went well... she did stay on and she seemed to be relaxed. She was even smiling! :) I may try getting her in the saddle again today.

Have fun at the show! I have been to a show with my human... we did line classes together. There were lots of neat things to see there!

My human was on my back today! We didn't do anything yet, I just stood there quietly. I want to make sure that any human on my back isn't going to fall off before I step out and start to go around the arena. I think that we are going to have more fun tomorrow.

All of that mud came in handy today. My human may have brushed it all off, but she had to spend a long time currying and brushing me and it was like a nice massage. :) I also got a brand new bridle... I look quite handsome in it. I will pose for some photos so that I can show it off. :)

Heehee. I have coated myself REALLY well with mud this time... and I spent time grinding it in really well... and I keep rolling and running around in the rain so that I can get my coat wet and add another layer of dirt/hay/grass. My human will NEVER get all of this mud off. *snicker*

I am starting to teach my my human how to ride. I have even gotten her to lie across my back! It felt a little strange and it took a few steps for me to find my balance (humans aren't as light as I expected), but so far so good. Yesterday the human who introduced my Mom and Dad also tried lying across my back a few times. Altogether I have carried four different humans a little (one at a time of course). Apparently I am teaching a few humans to ride! A horse's work is never done!

Once my owner had a party and the human kids were about 5-7 (the brothers and sisters). My human is 12. Anyway, I spent the whole day walking in my paddock with kids on my back. As I am obedient, a little boy who thought he was a cowboy, started kicking me and shouting "ja!" repeatedly. So I trotted. He still kicked me and was laughing, so I cantered, some excitement!, and he started shouting louder. He started panicking and I thought there was something wrong, so, I bolted and bucked, (the boy fell off but is fine, he was so light I forgot him!) and biggest mistake in my life, I bucked and turned, into the lunge line and hit my human on the head. I was tangled but I went to my human right away. She was bleeding and she still has a scar today. This happened Dec. 2009 by the way! I nuzzled her but her mother smacked me and shouted "YOU HIDEOUS BEAST, I'M GONNA GET RID OF U, LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE!" I was taken aback, but she is forgiven, she was as frightened and worried as I was. I understood that. I got untangled, untacked and released, but I watched until they brought her to hospital. I was about to be sold, and people came to look at me. Just as someone was paying 4 me, my owner saved me!
From this day, she is my favourite person!

Yeah, the lady who runs the stable (boss lady) INSISTED that I get out of my retirement even though I am old and greying. I had sort of frozen, not moving much even though out 24/7 because both hind legs hurt so much, and boss lady decided I HAD to move. So she got this other lady to ride me, she listened to me about my weak back, she also gives me a supplement that really helps make moving easier and she rasps my toes so my hooves keep balanced between trims. So I guess the boss lady might have been right after all.
My back is strong enough now that when I'm irritated with my rider I can do a rough sitting trot, she gets the message quickly. When she started riding me I was too weak to tell her what I thought about her riding. Now, though, I can start correcting her!
