Awesome!
Well done Bear! :)
I was once a Hunter and loved every moment! Except 4 the fact that my previous humans did not treat me well!

Well buds, just thought you'd like to know that I totally stepped outside the box yesterday and went to a hunter/jumper show. Competed in the Novice Hunter (2ft) Division and did myself, and my mother, proud. Christine piloted me around the jumps and we came 7th in the first round; 5th in the second round and 2nd in the third round. Some things just keep getting better!!!!

I was a bit overwhelmed by all the stimuli of the show at first --- people and horses everywhere; announcements blaring from the loud speakers and, to top it off, Christine attempting to mount up twice via a leg up. I said "No siree, Bob!" and managed to break free and was a loose horse in the show ground for a short time. That was exciting!!! Almost gave my mother a heart attack, I think. But after I was caught, and I wasn't too much of a pill about that, the coach lunged me for a while to settle my nerves and after that I was a total star!!! And mother was a very patient and hands-off owner just letting everything unfold as it should.

I really had a good time. I loved feeling a part of something special and really strutted my stuff in that ring, boy. Lots of people took notice ... and got nervous. "Where did he come from?" I heard someone say ... :-)

All that matters is that we had a really great experience and I'm really looking forward to going out and doing this again. It can only make the dressage gig better, right!

OW! I was hurt at the age of about 4 yrs. I had not even a month 2 rest nor a bandage! :( Not even a drop of medicine! :( Then I was STILL ridden in hunting. So I could NOT jump properly and my leg wuld hurt but they wuld force me to jump with a Sjambok (NASTY whip) and spurs! Even though I don't think they r allowed! :( But now I'm happy again! :)
Get well soon!

Nocturnis, my dear fellow, so that's why you haven't been visiting the herd!!! What a thoroughly dreadful circumstance in which you find yourself ... I'm so glad you have attentive humans to see to your boo boo and keep you comfortable.

Now, do please rest. I know you're still very young but somehow you need to curb your enthusiasm long enough to allow that nasty business to heal. I know it'll make your mom feel so much better when you are thoroughly on the mend, so help her out and enjoy some quiet recuperation. When you are completely better you can romp all you wish, I'm sure, but in the meantime ... chill horse!!! ;-)

A horse shoe to you, buddy!

Mia here. Poor Nocturnis. I have an old scar wrapping around the front of my front left cannon, and I STILL freak out when I feel anything that may wrap around.
I hope your owner cut your feed!

Hi everyone! Mowgli, I have been on stall rest since I got caught in a wire fence. I have been told that I have to relax so that my leg can heal. I have been getting lots of attention from my humans, and now I am getting some turnout with a buddy, but I am finding that being injured is not really much fun at all. I am not allowed to play, and if I do try to run or buck it makes my leg hurt really badly. I have been told that my leg is healing, but that I still have a long way to go.

To all the horses out there.... don't kick out near a fence. Trust me, no good will come of it!

Here is how I look with my injured leg (you can't see the back, which is probably a good thing since my humans say that it is scary):
