Welcum, Zeke!
I'm Mowgli. I am an ex-racehorse and have just started drag hunting! :)
Those wierd, heavy things are saddles. U'll get used 2 them! :) Has she started the bit and bridle yet? (The funny thing that goes on ur face used 2 control u!) She will soon start to ride you. But, even if it is wierd, just try ur best, then u will most likely get treats and be called nice things most of the times. :) I just came back from a tiring ride with my human. We cantered, or shall I say galloped! We jumped and I was a bit on holiday, so I got very xcited at the thought of jumping, so I rushed and my human panicked a little bit, or a lottle bit! LOL! :)
Make ur self at home Zeke! :)

Hi Everybody! My name's Zeke, and I'm new to this group!
I'm two years old, and my mother has just began to do these weird things to me! Putting heavy, scary things on me, and then the other day, she sat on me! What's with that?! But she says I'm a good boy, and Im being very brave about it all :)

Ooooh Donnie! How a great for you! I hope you enjoy your retirement.

I'm having a bit of a vacation myself while my mom is in Calgary checking out the stampede and Spruce Meadows. I must say we have both earned this little break. We're really making progress in our training ... it's a very exciting time.

Back to my hay and a snooze ...

I'm back! I finally figured out how to get into my account!
Well I have moved to a new home where I am out all day and nobody makes me work! I have a new friend named Rascal and we went out in the same field together for the first time today. It is the first time I have shared a paddock with another horse in years and so far I'm being a good boy and sharing my grass very nicely. :)

Mia here, my rider came out today and it was SOOO humid! Not only that but I hadn't had my breakfast yet.
Well, she fed me about half my b-fast, and told me we would be going SLOW today with all the air pollution and all. So we walked and walked.
After work she fed me the rest of my breakfast. About time!!!!

HEY! Folks! Waz up!? I came back early. We galloped and jumped and galloped and jumped and galloped and... wait... Oh, u get the point! :) It was AWESUM!!! Yucky! Shame Bear! My human almost fell off me! lol! I had no choice 2 gallop wen I was supposed 2 canter as the field I was on was so soft and muddy! Snort! Humans make it sooooooooo hard to gallop! :) But it was fun!
It is quiet.
I swam in "Die Alm", "Matt See", "Wolfgang See" and "Wald Bad Ani". All German names... All cold to! Brrrrrrrrrrrr! I still shake at the memory! :)
Neeeeeeeeeeeeiiiiiiiigh! Snort!
I have an urge 2 gallop! :) Well... my paddock's big enuf 4 that! I miss my racing days only 'cos I felt free at the races... But my human and new house is way better 'cos she is kinder and wuld not give me up for all the values in the world! :) "Whinny Softly"

So, it's pretty quiet in the herd lately. Hope everything's okay with everyone.

I get today off. Not tickled pink about standing out in a soggy field getting soaked by the rain, but you gotta take the good with the bad. The way I look at it the rain will just make the grass greener and more succulent for my taste buds. What could be wrong with that?

Mom's frustrated with herself in the canter transitions. Although we worked through it yesterday, it was slow going -- I really made her work for them. Maybe that wasn't nice, but she needs to know what's wrong with her position before she can fix it. Maybe this'll give her the momentum she needs to loosen up those hips. It would really help.

So, I'm off to snooze in the rain. At least the flies will be dormant for the day. snort>>

There I was eating hay and minding my own business the other day, when I bit into something most unpleasant and spit it right out into my bucket. Later when my mom came by, and after we'd had our workout and I'd been groomed, she put carrots in my bucket, as usual and I chowed down. I left one carrot because it was too close to the objectionable thing I had earlier spit out.

Mom checked my bucket before taking me back to the paddock and noticed that I had not eaten that last carrot. She picked it up and fed it to me (she's great that way) and then noticed the nasty thing at the bottom of my bucket. She took a closer look and picked it up and stared at it for about five seconds. Next thing I knew she was squealing and throwing it to the ground inside my stall. "Ew! Ew! Ew!" she screeched, and I had no idea why until I heard her say, "It's a curled up, dead, dehydrated garter snake!" Talk about "Ew!!!!!"

Mom went to the tack room, found a glove, picked up the offending body and put it outside out of the way, not without a few extra "Ews!" thrown in for effect.

I guess the poor critter got caught up in the thresher when the hay was cut last year. Ew! snort!>>
