Brenda, are you also on facebook? I have a public Q&A (search for Equine Psychology Center and look under discussions). I'm having trouble keeping up with all these social networking things as it's so time consuling!!!

But here's answer's in brief to your questions.

No animal (incl equus) is too young to be interacted with using the Royal Approach, nor is it possible for any animal to be too young or too old (or too anything else) to learn myriad behaviors as we're learning every minute we're alive. The great part is that learning using positive reward has now been proven to be quicker and longer lasting than all other known learning techniques.

You've also learned something most people err on until they really start communicting to the horse in a language he understands (body language), which is to guess a horse is dominant, when it may not really be. I recently had a clinic attendee with a mustang she was told was dominant, but was fearful/untrustful of people. You are already halfway there to mastering work with animals by learning that the most important things to a successful relationship with any creature are understanding it's needs and motivations before your own. So bravo for your observations and openness :-)

Enjoy ~ Cynthia

Hi Brenda and Cynthia...this is Cynthia.

Sorry for my absense, which is going to continue for another few days. Both my family and I are continuing to experience significant health challenges. So we welcome all the good energy you can send.

And thank you for the testimonials on our DVDs. Until I get a hard copy or e-book out (anyone wannt help with that, blog and other stuff?), our DVD sales are SOLELY what enables us to keep developing the Approach and teaching it to others (AND to pay for all these medical expenses!!!!! ;-)

Thank you for the nice comments on Volume 2 of the Royal Approach (formerly called Horse Talk). There’s A LOT of if's, and's, how's, but's and why's on Vol 1 (filmed just recently) that fill in the blanks of Vol 2 (which was actually filmed 1st). Be sure to FOCUS on the AUDIO as it is way more important than the video!!!!!

ALSO, we are focusing now more on the 'Power of Positive Reward' part of the Royal Approach than we did in the aforementioned videos who's focus was our 'Equineology' or horse psychology and culture foundation. POPR is the positive reinforcement hallmark unerlying the Royal Approach and truely what makes it unique from all other methods. We hope to be releasing new video in the next couple weeks, both for on-demand download from the internet AND then on DVD.

Brenda, I’ll answer your Q’s in separate posting as I’m running out of room here.

Thank you for the compliment in reference to Hempfling. He is one of a select few equine professionals whose contributions I value and encourage study of.

So again, thank you for all the support and I hope to be back on here posting again soon.

Cynthia,

Haven't seen any news about your husband's recovery. Hope your assistant will give some news.

I have watched the Horse Talk-Relationship video and wanted to comment on how wonderful your technique is. I'm heading out to the arena to spend some time with each of my horses using your methods. I began the following and stopping technique from Hempfling's book, Your video really shows how the horse responds. I am most anxious to continue with my most nervous and young Morgan. He was so dominant at first I thought he would always be a problem, not so much since I started ground work.

Is this too much for a 6 month old Andalusian I have begun ground working, simply doing relationship work ??

I am very please with my purchase of videos. Hope to be getting more.

Brenda

Hello Cynthia Royal,
I was shopping already at your site and am anxious to receive the set of videos I ordered. I have lots of questions, will wait to see the information first. I have a 5 month old filly to get started with and hope to have her trained with this kind method. Looks very interesting and lots of fun!

Hi Cynthia
I had not realized that you had signed on. Clinton Anderson has also signed on today, and Jane Savie has a site on here as well. I was just checking through to see who was on. I think many people start their own group, and people can sign on to whatever group interests them! talk soon maybe next week before I get back to my regular routine. Cynthia
