Hi Foxhunter! The good news is that its never too late with a horse...its just a matter of us learning their language. I would reccomend you look into Parelli and Klaus Hempfling, and other horsemen, and once you have familiarised yourself with the…

Mine is a Perch X Morgan, and has very little feathering. i clip her legs, though, because when it's wet....it STAYS wet. I prefer her out each day, and rug her accordingly....or not. I show , so I clip her legs, trim ears & face and pull…

Hi Barb - Just by coincidence I'm just trying to rig up some kind of "holder" for my cameras for the outdoor arena to do that very thing! I've got some money set aside to get a tripod but I don't want to rush in and buy the…

I have a clyde/morgan cross and apart from a bridle path, his jaw hairs and the little tufts at the base of his ears I don't mess with the rest. He doesn't have a lot of feather, just enough to channel away the rain like the tip of a leaf…

HelloOOOoooo Foxhunter!!
...*waving* ...
I'm VERY Interested in the Draft cross horses, and in fact I'm currently shopping for the one I hope will become my New Best Friend and future Dressage partner.
I LOVE It that you started the "Draft Horse Owners, Breeders, Riders" group ... but dismayed that there isn't more posting going on.
I'm fairly new to Barnmice, so don't feel confident enough yet to create any NEW discussions in the group, but I wonder if you might have any ideas for getting more activity happing there.
Thanks!!

Hi Foxhunter....I too am very enthusiastic about Chris Irwins' method of horse communication...if you ever get a chance to attend his clinics it will not be wasted time...also his DVD's are VERY informative...he is if nothing else a first-rate communicator...you will "GET IT...with LIGHT-BULB moments....good luck, but mostly have fun..I have a Halflinger who is also a big boy...and only just 5....so manners are very important...and Chris's DVD's have been very helpful...I have only one complaint... he promised a DVD that would cover "Harness Driving" and I am still waiting...I would like to break my Ziggy to harness.....So good luck to you...have a wonderful Summer....
