Former riding instructor at Chatham Hall Preparatory School and Averett College; at this point I raise high-quality sporthorses and enjoy dressage, trail riding, and jumping. I hope to get back into foxhunting, too!
It seems I mainly walk/trot nowadays, too! I think it's because I mainly like working with/training the young horses and take things pretty slow. That being said, I do (finally) have a horse again that I think is suitable for foxhunting--so may revisit that sport.
I have a degree in Animal Science (Horses) but have gone back to school for Physical Therapy. I'm really interested in hippotherapy and riding-assisted therapy.
Hi Linda, I am a handicapped rider (Multiple Sclerosis) who no longer owns horses. I ride other people's horses now, and I am lucky, I get to ride an Arab mare!
I ride Forward Seat (Caprilli, Littauer), a variation of hunt seat, even though now I just walk and trot mostly. I've been riding seriously for 40 years. I adore Arabians and I like riding smaller horses (13.2 to 15 hands.) I have over a 100 blogs here on Barnmice, and, to break up the boredom for myself and the horse, I experiment with tack, bits and bitless bridles mostly. If I did not ride I do not think that I would still be walking.
