#Life Hack - How to Attract More Customers to your Saddlery Store

#Life Hacks - How to Attract More Customers to your Tack Store

It’s no secret we live in the information age.

In fact we are bombarded with “information” every day in the form of e-mails, messages, pop up ads on-line courses and pod casts even blogs.

I am sure much of the information contained in them is good and useful but it’s just Too Much.

Human contact and personal interaction is becoming more and more elusive maybe its convenience or maybe it’s a cop out.

So how can Tack store owners use this information to their advantage?

Simple  - Go Old School

Offer free information seminars at their tack stores

featuring “Real Live Experts”

Topics can range from:

  • Saddle fitting
  • Understanding Bits
  • Equine first aid
  • Hoof care
  • Equine photography
  • Equine dentistry
  • Massage therapy for horses
  • Equine behaviour

Finding “Experts” to talk on these subjects is easy - you are probably friends with a vet, farrier, equine therapist, show medic all of whom would jump at the chance to showcase their knowledge from your store.

By offering free info seminars you are giving your customers a reason to visit your store and socialize with other horsey folk.

It provides the perfect opportunity to invite prospective customers / riding school/ livery barns/ pony clubs/ associations to your store.

Include a break in the talk to allow for shopping in the store.

This truly is a win win for everyone.

I know this works because I have given several talks at tack stores.

On average my talks attracted between 20 - 35 people.

I had a chance to showcase my skills and services

and the store had a bumper day with all the increased foot traffic.
