A busy week here on the farm, culminating in the arrival of a new horse… Ruby!

Handsome, in a rugged kinda way!

Ah, Ruby, there was a time when I felt like ordering a hit on Ruby!  All his other visits (uninvited) to the farm resulted in the clippity clop of little hooves 11 months later.  (Fences aren’t a big concern for most farmers here in South Africa, something that drives me to distraction)  His impromptu appearances here in the past have resulted in Earrach, Oisin, Charlie and Seamus!

But poor Ruby’s oat sowing days came to a sudden an abrupt end about 3 months ago, when G & D, his owners had him snipped!  He was becoming just a wee bit too much of a handful for them as well.  Anyways, as he is over 5 and a half now, its high time Ruby found a more useful and productive hobby; as a horse for his owners to ride around their farm on.  And so Ruby is here to be backed.

Small horse... Huge thick neck! He is a typical boerperd

I let him out in one of the paddocks with Goldie today.

Goldie, being the perfect hostess :-)

Plus, fantastic news… the chiropractor was here on Friday and Dusky, Debehhams and Cordoba are now ready to work again!  Dusky has been in very light work since her slip from the box and Debenhams just needed a wee bit of tweaking!  Poor Cordoba is a work in progress, but the good news is he can come back into light work in about 10 days :-)

Enjoy the weekend

Be Good X
