March 11th through the 13th Chance and I got to attend the Dressage Affaire in Del Mar, California. The show's over and all of our things are packed up for tomorrow morning when my trainer Teri will drive the horses back to AZ. My mom, dad, and I will follow a little bit later. We had a great show and won both of our classes! The first day we were drawn first to go in our class. When we got in the indoor arena Chance was a little excited but once he got in the ring he was all business. We had a very solid ride with only a couple bobbles. I was so happy when I found out we got a 66% at our first CDI of the year! :) The next day it was a little bit colder out and he was a little bit spookier in the arena. We were drawn first again! His trot work was interupted by a few silly moments but we pulled it together to have some very nice canter work. Our score was still a 65%, which I was very pleased with. I felt like I learned a lot at this show and can't wait to try again. Chance seems to be getting more fit and a little bit hotter as he moves up the levels and now I'm learning how to get that energy to work for me. Chance also got to lead his award ceremonies and have a little fun after he won! I also got some nice prizes like a new double bridle and a pair of boots. Once we get home we'll have three weeks to train untill the ADA show at WestWorld. Next weekend my mom and I are going to Tucson to help fundraise for the Region 5 Juniors. I can't wait for the rest of the show season on our quest to represent Region 5 once more at the North American Junior/Young Rider Championships!
