Darwin’s Makes it Easy and Affordable to Feed Your Dog All-Natural, Raw Food!

This month on Animal Matters, Healer Gabriela Castillo & Christianna Capra will be talking with both Darla Rewer DVM and James Pendergast from Darwin’s Natural Pet Products ( about our animal companion's nutritional needs and how it affects their overall health and quality of life. James has been making and feeding his dogs raw foods for over 19 years, with a passion for optimal nutrition, mimicking the ancestral diet of dogs. James is currently involved in product development for a leading national manufacture of fresh frozen raw diets. He works closely with renowned animal nutritionists and holistic veterinarians to develop nutritionally complete and balanced meals for pets. Dr. Darla Rewer wanted to be a veterinarian since the age of five. Always an empath, natural healer, and visionary artist, Darla wanted to give a voice to the animals and be their advocate in the most gentle, heart-centered, true-feeling way. Her interest in shamanism, plant medicines, and diverse healing forms from all over the globe since an extremely early age led her to combine her passions into opening Ancient Arts Healing Arts Center for pets and people. There is a very tangible link between the symptoms we see in animals and the people they live with. Dr. Rewers treats the animals, and helps their caretakers bring awareness to their part in the wellness. Darla teaches Qi Gong and art meditation to the humans to help them help their pets. A licensed veterinarian in Florida, California, and Washington, Dr. Rewer has been certified in veterinary acupuncture and practicing alternative therapies on domestic and exotic species since 2002. She has been doing house calls and office visits in the Greater Puget Sound Area since 2005. Ancient Arts Veterinary Acupuncture Services found a new office in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle in September 2008.

We are very excited about next month’s show! Attached (pdf) is a preview to next month’s show topic – which will be Sunday, October 18th at 7pm PT / 10pm ET. This particular show will be a special edition segment dedicated to Christianna’s horse, Spring Thaw – who is a major inspiration of hope and purpose in her life. Over the summer of 2008 she wrote a story about her journey (thus far) with Spring for a contest with the Angel Animal Network – the story won honorable mention and shortly after that Christianna was contacted by Allen & Linda Anderson for a submission of the story for their next book titled: Horses With A Mission: Extraordinary True Stories of Equine Service (New World Library, Sept 22, 2009). The October show will be a special live broadcast from Meadowcrest Farm in Augusta, NJ with our guest of honor – Spring Thaw himself!

Our guests will be:

· Linda Anderson (co-author, Horses With A Mission and co-founder of The Angel Animal Network) to help us introduce this amazing book

· Dr. Judith Shoemaker, DVM (Always Helpful Veterinary Services and healer and inspiring mentor for Spring and I)

· Dr. Maria Karavidas, PsyD (co-founder & Director of Mental Health for Spring Reins of Hope)

· And…Spring Thaw! (I don’t know if we will actually hear from Spring, but his energy will be with us as we celebrate him and welcome in the next new phase of our lives!)

Hope you can join us!
