Hey Jenna - guess I've been sending the wrong ponies/horses to dressage shows all these years...Scooter went to the Pony Club Regional Dressage Champ. and came home with 3 firsts and a second! She was reserve champ. for her division, freestyle champion and high score for the day!! Who knew!!??!!
Got a new boarder in today - cute clyde/TB cross. Cat is supposed to be bringing her Connemara in next month.
Are you still able to ride as much now that you are back at school? Did you ever find someone to part lease Diamond? (Emily mentioned you were trying to find someone).

Scooter is still being part leased.....Fiona took her to North Augusta on monday and came home with 2 firsts, a fourth and a fifth!(smallest class had 13 entries). Not bad for a 25 year old pony!!! She is going the the Pony Club dressage championships in a couple of weeks, and then a fun show in Oct. They were going to go to the last Heroncrest show, but I was judging - so that wouldn't have worked!!!
I think Bounce is taller than Hilite now, and she's a really weird colour - sort of a chestnut, buckskin, greyish. It will be interesting to see what her winter coat comes in with! I'm hoping to start ground work with her this fall and eventually get her hooked up to the cart.
Lenoir is still having problems, but not as bad as in June when she had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance. She goes to see a specialist this month, so hopefully he can get her sorted out.
No news on the farm....we've had offers, but can't find a place near Kingston. We did have an offer in on one place, at the asking price, and someone came along and offered more than the asking price!
Let me know how it's going with you....having fun back at school?? hahaha!!!!
thanks jenna - that would be heri (19y appie gelding), the summer before saying "out". we went to a few local shows, he did a great job but would rather be home in his field or out on the trails.
Just have the old guys (Jet, Ben, Scoot), PeeWee, Bounce, Hilite and Oz. Pee is now head of the 'pony herd' - going out with Hilite and Bounce. Pee and Bouce have had a few escapes since they've been going out - ended up in Campbell's field one day and out in our back field where we hack on another - Hilite stays home and comes running up to the barn to let me know if they have gone!
I'm going to keep Bounce and hopefully get her lunging and ground driving this fall. I'm justifying it by telling myself she can be a driving pony.
I've been on Pee a few times, but every time I get her going something happens ie. Lenoir ending up in the hospital, haying season etc. etc. I've been away the last three weekends judging and doing pony club tests....the next three weekends I'm horse-sitting - Roxy just won a race this afternoon. Thor races down in Pittsburgh later this month.
Thanks for the pictures. The profile picture is Benny and Buster (his half brother). Gypsy went to a lady from Merrickville who is a pleasure rider - just wants to hack around. She has her at Dunklins right now, but I think she is looking to buy a farm so that she can keep her at home. I got a call from her last week and I guess Gypsy is doing really well...the only person that isn't fond of her is the girl that cleans her stall!(I did warn them that she pees ALOT!).
Oz has been doing some driving lessons, but I haven't had him down the road(no shoes, plus they paved the 6th con. where we used to go). He's also been doing alot of beginner lessons - he is not impressed, nobody has cantered him in a while....it could be exciting the next time someone tries! Cat also has some REALLY good pictures of Mike - I'm just waiting for her to send them to me.
That would be great Jenna! I'm trying to change my profile picture...but my computer seems to be having a meltdown (it's getting way too old). How are things with you? I talked to Emily last week, and was supposed to go over on friday, but I ended up teaching so didn't make it. I haven't seen her 'new' horse yet. Joanne
Well, as much as I would love to toot about them it would be easier for you to look them up on line. The american azteca has 2 registries here. If you read about them and then have any questions I will be more than happy to answer them. I will say they are people oriented and can do any thing. They are the ultimate all round horse. From english, dressage to driving and chasing cows and jumping. You name it they will do it.
My horses...they have been doing pretty well...elite is gone back 4 more training now...cabreo is improving very much except his bolting problems...we are going to try a new bit and a flash nose band for him and see how it goes. We dont know what is causing cabreo to bolt these days i may have 2 ride him more...hes got to much energy i guess...lol..i am planning on making cabreo a hunter pony except we are more successful in the jumper doing our speedy tight turns and all that..lol
how r ur horses doing???
Thanks Jenna! He's retired now and hangs out with his new friend Rascal. I'm in the process of finding a new horse, but Donnie will be VERY hard to replace! :)
