Is no one else following this? One egg was stolen by a raven, but the second egg, due to htch on the 11th has produced a young one who should fledge about July 5th!!!

After checking the HWF site, I learned the first egg was laid on March 4, 2010 and is due to hatch on April 8. Egg #2 was laid on Mar 7 and is due to hatch April 11. Can't wait to see them!

I am so lucky!! The first time I am watching one adult and two chicks came back to the nest. The adult brought some food with ?her and then moved it so the second chick would start eating. The adult flew off and the chicks continue to feed.

As I sat here having my coffee this morning I managed to see a small bird meander through the nest bed, looking for goodies...and then got to watch a spider creating a web in front ! Busy ( and noisy) place ! Guess that's a hint for me to start housework!!! *grin*

I'm suffering from "empty nest syndrome" !!! It's wonderful to see our babies doing so well and getting on their way, but I know I'm going to miss them terribly. Ho hum..

Wow..won't be long before they leave now...practicing jumping from the nest to branches...that's why it looks like the nest is empty...and then they jump back in....strenghtening their wings
