A long way to go, but we'll get there in the end!

Lately I haven't been blogging much.
Had a period where we just tried to figure out how to practice the most effective way for our clinic next Saturday.

Well, to be honest, I am not sure if we will be ready to go there. You see, last Tuesday she had her hooves fixed, and had a huge bacterial infection in them. The barefoot trimmer had to dig a little to make it better, but unfortunately she was sore under her legs the day after. And she still is.

I didn't know what to do with the sore part, so I just left her out with her friends and took her in once a day to do her hooves (that means clean them and spray on some special treatment I got from the barefoot trimmer).
But today I talked with a good friend of mine, and she told me to walk with her (the horse!) on asphalt every day. She told me I should try to walk at least 30 minutes every day, but the best would be one hour.

The picture is from last Wednesday when I figured she was sore.

Hopefully the walking on asphalt will make her better before Saturday. I will hate not to be able to go to that clinic. I am really a little bit stressed about that, because that's the one thing we had to look forward to.
I also think that will be a good thing for Pernille (my horse's name), to go on one day trips with driving in a horse box and all that stuff. She is a little nervous about that. I guess that is because she's afraid she won't come back to her home and stuff like that.

Well, so this week (actually the next week, since it's Sunday now) we will be walking lots on asphalt and hope for the best.
I might as well buy her a pair of boots if it's not getting any better before Tuesday.
This evening we will see how she manage on the asphalt.....
