First Round of World Cup Dressage - 's Hertogenbosch

Isabell Werth won the Grand Prix at the 2008 World Cup Finals in 's Hertogenbosch.
Werth beat Anky van Grunsven by riding Warum Nicht in an error free test with lots of power and expression. She scored 75.083%. Anky put in a powerful ride on a relaxed Salinero but had a small hiccup in the collected canter and some imperfections in the flying changes resulting in a 74.75% score.
It all comes down to Grand Prix Kur on Saturday afternoon...will the World Cup Champion for 2008 be Isabell or Anky??

Good question! I think it's Isabell's year.
p.s. Imagine making some mistakes in your test to end up with 74.75%.
I would LOVE to have a seat for Saturday night and watch Isabell and Anky battle it out for the top spot! They are both BRILLIANT competitors and will give it their 'all'. Good luck to both of them!
( I have to confess though...I do love "Hannes" because of his big expressive ears!! LOL! And after seeing his expression when the western rider with the giant American flag screeched to a halt 10 feet from his face in Vegas, and seeing how he managed to keep his 'cool'...he has won my heart!)
I'm really hoping this is Isabell's year. It always amazes me how she comes into the arena in walk, then does a very loose, no pressure rising trot & yet the second she sits, the horse comes up underneath her & dances, with no perceptible aids - amazing!

There is live streaming from Indoor Brabant over the net & the kur final is Saturday afternoon local time. The link is & http://www.indoorbrabant.com/cms/page.php?id=media

for you jumping fans, this is also being shown. Happy viewing :-)
