What is the best way to trim a Haflingers mane. My mare can't see but I don't want her to lose her shaggy appearance completely. Also her mane is so thick that it wants to fall on both sides of her neck.

...Hi ... My guy Ziggy is the same....I just thin his mane out a little with a metal comb and I find I always have to keep his mane braided you could do the same with her forelock.....I like the long and shaggy look too...I also leave his "feathers" on on his legs....Haflingers are the sweetiest things aren't they ?????
They are almost addictive. I have just adopted Licorice and her son of just 1 year, Amadeus. I have had and cared for many breeds but they are by far one of the sweetest. I find myself hugging them both alot, they are so cute. Little stuffed toy horses! Amadeus loves to play fetch and throw with his Jolly Ball.
