I agree, and Susie will surely, surely speak loudly on this issue. they are hardier it seems when they are blended. My Friesian/Morgan cross, thank you a bushel load Susie, is the rock of Gilbraltar...in mind and body. He is the horse that you can put a arrogant upper level rider on to demote them, or a baby or novice to promote them. He is wiser and stronger than all the others. but he is solid and stunning and now, big surprise to me, very, very talented...at 16.

hello all, I own 2 friesian mares and a stallion and also have 2 morgans- one is a mare. The mare shall be bred to my friesian stallion in 2010 and my friesians hopefully will be bred for warlanders for 2011.
My mare is out of Xanto's dam- so they are related.
I had a wonderful stallion , Ulrik , who bred several mares and produced incredible offspring from Lipizanner, andalusian and luisatano, morgan and saddlebred mares... to name a few.
Thanks
Susie

Hi Martha,

Congratulations on your new Friesian/Andalusian cross! He is lovely. What is his breeding and where did you find him? I have seen a number of 'Warlanders' over the years and I also really like Morgan/Friesian or Morgan/Andalusian crosses.

Wow!! Gorgeous!! Hybrids are just as wonderful as the purebred. They bring to the table a mix of their each individual "breed strengths" combined. Like salt and pepper :-). Some may feel they are hardier as well...

I have a Friesian/Morgan cross who has proved himself to be a solid and reliable dressage partner. I bought him when he was 4, now 16, and he has NEVER had an off day in his life. He is the kind of horse everyone needs! I have four other warmbloods, but have just purchased a coming two year old Friesian/Andalusian cross because as I think of riding into my 50's, something appeals to me in the reliable, yet beautiful nature of these "hybrids". Check out my photos, Mars and Xanto.

the filly in my picture is out of my tb X clydesdale mare and my friend's andalusian X lipizzaner boy - odd cross, very much so, but (touchwood) she has beautiful conformation, has inherited her parents good nature and is a budding wee talent, hopefully in a bit of everything like her mother!

HI Brenda

I am thinking of learning to drive myself. There are a couple of clinics being offered by Ontario Driving Association sometime in the spring. I am going to attend to see if I like driving.

I have a new Andalusian, foal, born in September. See her early pics at my page. We will be riding most of the winter, just built an indoor arena. I have two PRE mares, Fiesta D, Festiva DW(Fiesta's daughter) and now another Fiesta daughter. We ride dressage with Ellin Daum. She was a student of Jean Claude Racinet, he died this year after an accident. I appreciate the Riding in Lightness of Racinet, have to work on my mares to get that lightness.
I'm planning to buy a driving harness next month, does anyone do dressage driving? I have a beautiful Morgan, I think is baroque too, he looks like an Andalusian to me. He was line driving and hope to drive him. Does anyone have experience in driving an older horse without prev training. Can I teach my old horses new tricks??

I have several Andalusian crosses. One is an Hispano-Arabe, one is half Andy and half arab x appy (my profile photo) and the others are Aztecas. I absolutely love Andalusians and their crosses! Someday I hope to own a purebred colt I can train and show, then use for breeding.
